AWARDS CATEGORIES

Rising Star of the Year

Nominees may not nominate themselves and must be nominated by an employer or colleague. A company can enter just one nominee.

For individuals in estate and letting agencies, property management companies and auction services. The Award identifies a special individual – a potential industry leader; who demonstrates enthusiasm, innovation, initiative and leadership qualities.

Open only to individuals born since 1st January 1994. The judges look for someone who, for their age, has been exceptionally successful or made a significant impact in the business.

  2. Tell us about their key strengths, career to date and ambitions and potential for the future.
  3. Tell us about their achievements to date (they may be small but significant) which demonstrate the nominee's talents and abilities.

Community Champion of the Year

Open to all agencies, auction houses and property management companies. This award celebrates corporate and social responsibility and contribution to the community. For example, smaller agencies may be supporting schools, clubs, charities etc. and larger agencies may be engaged in major programmes of community support. The judges look for a lasting commitment, team involvement and action.

Marketing Campaign of the Year

Open to agencies, property management companies and auction houses. This award is for marketing your agency to the public (not for marketing your properties). It recognises a successful marketing campaign in the past year (Since June 2023). The judges look for imagination and originality of your campaign, its objectives, creation and implementation. Detail how you measured success. Include verifiable facts and figures and illustrations where appropriate to demonstrate success. Include illustrations, videos, graphs, and anything else which supports the entry, by uploading supporting material in the fields below.

Open to estate and letting agencies, property management companies and auction houses. The judges will consider your website’s appearance, functionality, speed, user experience, efficiency, and ease of use on all devices. Your website builder should contribute to your entry, explaining technical aspects such as SEO, speed, responsive behaviour and quality of user experience.

  3. Tell us how your business has grown since you launched this iteration of your website and provide evidence (analytics showing traffic and engagement growth, domain authority and relevant metrics, eg increase in instructions, landlord acquisitions, revenue growth).

Employer of the Year

Entries may be made by directors or owners who believe that their organisation offers real career opportunities, training, support and recognition. Comment on remuneration, bonuses and benefits. Why is it a great place to work and how have you actively made it so? Provide details such as: company culture, inclusivity, staff long service, flexible working, recruitment strategy, apprentice programmes, professional development, mentoring, social calendar, incentives and rewards. Nominations should be supported by three staff testimonials.

Open to auction houses, independent or franchise/network, operating regular auctions for residential property, at a venue and/or online. Demonstrate growth, innovation and service and include five testimonials from agent clients to support the entry.

Open to any standalone block management company. The category covers property management and block management operations that are not directly connected to an estate or letting agency business.

Land & New Homes Specialist of the Year

If you have a Land & New Homes section (single person or a whole department) you can enter this category. As more agents recognise the opportunities offered in this sector, we’re looking for a team or an individual that is successfully sourcing land, planning development and selling the homes.

SUPPLIER AWARDS

Do you deliver more than you promise? Do your products and services make agents’ businesses fly? Is your technology way ahead of the crowd? Can you demonstrate innovation, quality, service and customer satisfaction?

Entries must be supported by five client testimonials. 

Suppliers may enter up to five categories providing the product or service for each entry is different, eg a company may build apps and supply a general CRM software platform, therefore could enter two categories: Technology – Apps and Technology – Agency Software.

Supplier of the Year – Professional Support

Open to companies providing professional services, for example: legal services, financial, management consulting, mortgages, conveyancing, insurance, deposit protection, ombudsman services, dispute resolution etc.

The Small, Medium and Large agency categories are determined by number of staff.

This is based on full-time, or equivalent, employees.

Sustainable Agency of the Year

This category is for estate and letting agencies, of any size. This is your opportunity to show how your agency is rising to the challenge to be carbon neutral, to instil practices, behaviour and and overall ethos of sustainability in an era of global eco-threat. Explain how you are promoting your agency as an example to staff, clients, your community and the property industry as a sustainable business.

Open to all businesses that offer an alternative service and fee structure to the traditional high street, branch-based, no-sale no-fee model (often referred to as hybrid, hub-based, self-employed franchise, or online agencies).

Open to sales/lettings agency or property management company – independent or part of a franchise/network etc, launched since 1st January 2022. Provide an overview of the launch, including details of funding, business strategy and growth to date. Please include as much verifiable information to support your entry, including financials. Previous winners are not eligible to enter.

For letting agencies with up to 15 full time or equivalent employees/staff or equivalent employees/staff allocated exclusively to lettings. The judges look for a first-class agency that really stands out in their town and region and how they win the long-term loyalty of clients, with the personal touch, local knowledge and involvement. Judges are also looking for originality and success in marketing and clever use of technology for customer service and business development.

The judges will be looking for a cohesive, successful business benefitting from economies of scale, effective marketing, thorough compliance practices, growth of income streams with a programme of staff training and development.
